"Feels Like Friday" Edie Brickell and The Lippi Band

Written by: Edie Brickell, J.C. It's truly a collective effort, and some of these ideas turn into songs. Here is one of them... "Feels Like Friday" is a pretty little tune that packs an interesting punch for a song under 3 minutes long.

This group, which has no name of it's own at the moment, is just something we plan to investigate when our collective schedules allow us the time to share in this sort of musical fun again... Peace, Lip

* Edie Brickell/Vocals, J.C.
"Odd Apple Radio" - New Juano Lippi Music Coming This Spring!

"Odd Apple Radio" by Juano Lippi is a sonic tapestry reminiscent of the 70's college radio era, and the psychedelic concept albums of that time... Though the vibe is old school and the instrumentation is mostly organic, the music is infused with a modern urban edge.

It's presented as an audio-movie of sorts... The music, songs, skits and bits play as a radio broadcast, but this signal doesn't adhere to a traditional format. It flows more like an avant-garde audio montage. Radio static and other transmitted noises play a big sonic roll as well.

It's a pretty deep musical effort, but it can also be fun and even catchy in places. Most importantly it's an inventive and creative take on life and sound in the big (odd) apple.

At this point Odd Apple Radio is about 75% done. If possible, we plan to release it a few different ways.... The original version will be released on vinyl and CD. The vinyl will be accompanied by digital downloads of both the original version and the instrumental version of the record.

It's hard to describe what this album is going to really sound like, but try to imagine this... Blend the organic instrumentation of early Santana with the harmonious playground of The Beastie Boys' "Check Your Head". Mix that with the fun of early Cheech and Chong comedy skits and bit of Frank Zappa's outlandish musings... Then, add a dash of Pink Floyd's "Dark Side", and a sprinkle of Outkast's "Speakerboxxx", and you've got the general ingredients for an odd apple pie.

The musical world we be a lot more interesting once we have this selection to bounce around the room... Hear a sample of this upcoming effort on the juanolippi.com jukebox... "Enter, The Playground, Exit", is a three piece introduction to Odd Apple Radio, by Juano Lippi. Enjoy...
